If you adore Dior—and who doesn’t?—then you’ll delight in the St. Regis New York’s new Dior Suite. Inspired by the designer’s Parisian atelier and featuring artwork by beauty artist–in–residence Bil Donovan, it’s 1,700 square feet of wish fulfillment for the sartorial set. To decipher what makes the suite uniquely Dior, the St. Regis design team recommends spotting these five signature elements.
Whispering gray. The celebrated color of the designer’s showroom is featured throughout the suite, complemented by pops of blush and clean, white trim.
Roses. The traditional Dior motif subtly plays into the textiles used for throw pillows, ottomans and the dining room chairs.
Ovals. The ovals in the moldings are a nod to the designer’s penchant for the shape, a reference to Louis XVI furniture.
Bows. The ultra-femme embellishment has been a part of Dior since the early collections and is seen here in the sconces and atop the over-sized oval mirror in the master bedroom.
Cannage. For his first fashion show, Dior sat guests in cane-bottom chairs. The Cannage pattern continues to be seen on the fashion house’s handbags, as well as on the console in the suite’s master bedroom. $8,500 a night; 2 E. 55th St.; 877-787-3447; stregis.com.
