With more than 500 boats on display in water and on land, 160 of which will be on show for the first time ever, the two exceptional French Riviera sites, the ‘Vieux Port’ and ‘Port Pierre Canto’, located at either end of the famous Croisette in Cannes, are just right for hosting Europe’s leading in-water boat show.

The first gathering of the season, the Cannes show brings together the key players in pleasure boating and international luxury yachting, whether they be exhibitors showcasing their new vessels, products and services or visitors--yacht owners or future buyers--enthusiastic and eager to take advantage of a unique opportunity offered by this show: the sea trials! New jumbo jet to debut at Paris Air Show

Boeing is to officially debut its new 747-8 Intercontinental at the Paris Air Show, it has confirmed.

The US aviation giant will display both the passenger and cargo versions of the aircraft at the show, which runs June 20-26.

The passenger version of the 747-8 Intercontinental, which took to the skies for the first time in March this year, will fly on June 19 and will be on static display until the evening of June 21, with Boeing's other new airliner, the 787 Dreamliner, on show afterwards (June 22-23).

Next year, Lufthansa is set to be the first airline to fly the new 747-8 Intercontinental, a stretched version of Boeing's classic jumbo jet which can carry 467 passengers and is expected to compete with Airbus' A380 'super jumbo.'

The 747-8 is designed for long-haul flights, with a range of 14,815 km that enables airlines to operate popular routes such as New York to Hong Kong or London to Singapore non-stop.

At a length of 76.4 meters, it is the world's longest aircraft and is expected to afford considerable efficiency savings compared with its predecessor.

The Paris Air Show is the oldest aviation show in the world, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors to Le Bourget Airport just outside Paris every two years.

As well as airplanes from manufacturers such as Boeing, Airbus, Embraer and Bombardier, visitors can enjoy spectacular air shows from both fixed-wing and helicopter aircraft, as well as a history of aviation exhibition.
