The six island Heart of Europe Project is an ambitious and unique project off the coast of Dubai. It had got stuck due to the economic downturn which saw the Dubai property market loose almost 60% in terms of valuation. The offshore project had ground to a virtual standstill but has restarted since and its first island will be opened to the public this week with the launch of the luxury World Island Beach Club. Their operations manager Reza Sinnen while talking to the Arabian Business said that the exclusive resort cum club will become operational by the end of the first week of the new year.
The membership of the elite club could cost as much as AED 40,000 a year which would be equivalent to $10,890. Dubai is moving towards becoming a tourism destination and the World Island could lead the way. The World Island Beach Club will have a hundred seat restaurant, cabanas, a lounge area and entertainment facilities. The island can be reached by boat or yachts as the island has a pontoon facility that can accommodate yachts of up to 80 feet.
Nakheel, the promoter of the offshore project is repositioning the project as a tourism destination. They are planning day and dinner cruises around the World. The developers also plan to create 500 artificial reefs around Dubai in an attempt to regenerate marine life around the Emirate’s coastline. They will be taking up this project around their existing manmade islands Ali Lootah. In the mean time the first attraction, the luxury resort owned by Indian entrepreneur Wakil Ahmed Azmi will become operational and help attract tourists to the ambitious offshore project.
