Sofitel Luxury Hotels has announced that it will open a stunning new 350-room hotel in the bustling commercial city of Changsha in early 2015, which, at 66 storeys high, will become the city center’s tallest hotel. Changsha is the capital of the Hunan Province, and has retained its centuries-old influence as one of China’s most important commercial, industrial and cultural centers.
The Sofitel Changsha Huachuang is being developed by Hunan Hua Chuang Group, and will occupy the first to fifth floors, plus the top 17 floors of the high-rise, providing unmatched views over the city. The tower’s lower floors will encompass luxury office space, while the expansive complex will also contain a 28-storey office building, a 28-storey luxury apartment tower and a shopping center.

Set to become one of Changsha’s most luxurious hotels, the Sofitel Changsha Huachuang will feature 350 spacious hotel rooms and suites, three restaurants and a top-floor bar, a large pillar-free ballroom, seven meeting rooms of various sizes, the group’s signature So SPA, fitness center So FIT, a beauty salon, an indoor swimming pool and two boutique shops. It will also have an executive lounge, which will be complemented by a fully equipped business center.

Changsha’s rich history has made it a magnet for tourists, while its flourishing commercial industries attract a constant stream of business travelers. The Sofitel Changsha Huachuang’s downtown location on Middle Furong Road is the perfect position for both classes of visitors, offering easy walking distance to the city’s conveniences. The Metro Line 2 station (operational from late 2012) is just a 5 minutes walk away, the high-speed train station is a 15 minutes drive away and Changsha International Airport is approximately 40 minutes away. Reflecting its reputation as one of China’s most well-connected cities, Changsha will soon become the center point and interchange hub of the Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway and Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway, due to be completed in 2013.
